How much, and how heavy

Enter the surface area and the thickness. The figures come from the published density for this stone, and the allowance is one you set.

The off-cuts, the corners and the pieces that do not fit. Ten per cent is a working figure, not a rule.

How it works

Three numbers in, four numbers out

  • The surface area you need to cover, in square metres.
  • The thickness you are specifying.
  • The cutting allowance you are willing to carry, which is the off-cuts and the pieces that do not fit.

The result is the area to cut with the allowance added, the weight per square metre at that thickness, the total weight, and how many slabs the area draws from.

What it calculates from

Thicknesses held
15 mm · 18 mm · 20 mm
Slab length band
1500 to 3200
Slab width band
1200 to 2000

What it does not do

It does not count the pieces. That depends on the layout, the vein direction and the format you have chosen, and it is worked out against the slab rather than guessed at here. It does not price anything. It does not include the packing weight, the crate, or the freight - those are quoted against the actual shipment.

Tell us what the job needs

Tell us the application, the size and the finish you need, and we will come back with what we can actually supply.

There is no checkout here and there is no price list. A stone enquiry is an agreement about material, size, finish and destination, and the answer depends on those four things. Send them and the reply carries what can actually be shipped.
