Request a sample

Hold the material before you order it

A sample is cut from the stock that would be supplied, so what arrives is the material rather than a photograph of it. We quote the cost of the piece and the carriage against your request, and the sample is not charged for against an order.

A sample that is too small to judge the veining is not worth cutting. If you have a drawing, give us the size off it.

A full address, because a sample that cannot be delivered cannot be sent. Customs will want the address anyway.

What a sample tells you

  • The colour of that batch, under your light, rather than under ours.
  • The vein direction, so you can see how it will run across a floor or up a wall.
  • The finish as it will be delivered - polished, honed or matt - and how it behaves when wet.
  • The weight and the feel of it, which no photograph carries.

What it does not tell you

One piece is not a slab. The colour across a whole floor is the colour of a block, and a block is not a piece. What the sample settles is whether you want this stone at all - which is the question a photograph cannot answer.

Tell us what the job needs

Tell us the application, the size and the finish you need, and we will come back with what we can actually supply.

There is no checkout here and there is no price list. A stone enquiry is an agreement about material, size, finish and destination, and the answer depends on those four things. Send them and the reply carries what can actually be shipped.
