Every finish, with an honest verdict

43 USRV dry and 16 USRV wet on the honed surface, published to EN 14231-04. The wet figure is the one a bathroom or an entrance has to be designed around, and it is a factor of two and a half lower than the dry one.
The figures
| Property | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Slip resistance, honed, dry | 43 USRV | EN 14231-04, published technical sheet |
| Slip resistance, honed, wet | 16 USRV | EN 14231-04, published technical sheet |
| Calcite content | 95–98 per cent | published petrographic note |
Why this stone behaves this way
A honed surface is ground, not polished, so it carries a fine texture that gives a dry grip. Water fills that texture and the grip falls with it. That is why the wet figure is published next to the dry one and why a wet-area floor is specified differently from a dry one.
What these figures are, and what they are not These are published values for the material, not a certificate for the slab you are buying. A certificate issued for the block governs, and a floor that is sealed and then wet has to be assessed as it is actually laid.
